Portraits: `Alice (?)`HD transferred on DVD, 25`37”, 2011.

I have invited more than hundred of Alice-s to come with me on this journey, A couple of of them wanted to come..
The Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass stories could be observed as a starting point of a process e.g. deconstruction in order to construct a new or parallel `reality (?)` with a resemblance or not at all...
Making ordinary magical or illogical or nonsensical or whatever comes from it... I believe that space and time are interconnected in a peculiar way. I enjoy J. Cage’s - Cunningham`s chance performances and I wanted that our `encounter` (Alices` and mine) have that element ...
My idea was to film Alice-s and invited Alice-s in different locations (spaces) e.g. studio or open space with no specifically set plot, by using the convex or ordinary mirrors. There is always an idea in our head (on one side) and the reality on the other side, and a million possibilities – chances in between... this is why I want to leave things open...
As a starting point of our creative act I ask invited Alice-s to look at the camera, but they had freedom to do what they wanted to do as Alice... To me it was important that Alice feel good while embracing Alice’s character, and I new that chance will do surprises.
